  • Building and strengthening community links is so important in Kingsisland. The mighty Eco-Warriors and the children in Primary 5 had a busy morning planting trees in the bogland behind Derrytresk GAC.
  • The boys and girls in Kingsisland had a very informative and enjoyable start to their week!A big THANK-YOU to Jill Eagleson from Mid-Ulster Council for visiting our school this morning to talk to the children about recycling.
  • We predicted that the egg in coke would turn yellow but we just couldn't believe how quickly the egg changed colour in just one day!
  • P5 enjoyed participating in a fun P.E lesson with our coach Brian today.The boys and girls practised their football skills before showcasing their talent in very tightly contested football matches.
  • After our investigation into how many spoonfuls of sugar are in some drinks, our pupils just couldn't believe how much sugar some of their favourite drinks contain!
  • Today was a historic day in the history of StJohn's Kingsisland PS as our new school hall was officially opened. It opens up a whole new chapter in the lives of the current pupils and indeed in the many generations of Kingsisland children to follow.
  • Many thanks to Derrylaughan Kevin Barrys GAC player and coach, Sean Robinson who comes in to school every Wednesday to coach the boys and girls in Primary 4.
  • The Eco-Warriors looking the part in their new hats!They couldn't wait to check themselves out in the mirror and of-course take a few selfies along the way!
  • The boys and girls have been very busy weeding and preparing the tyres for bulb planting. They also emailed Jill from the Mid-Ulster Council to arrange a visit to our school to talk to all the children about recycling.
  • Our brand new new chairs, for the school hall arrived today.The older pupils helped unpack, organise and put them out for our official Blessing ceremony in the morning.
  • Chess Club. It was great to welcome, Jelmar back to Kingsisland this morning. Jelmar had over 30 children joining in his early morning chess club. The club just keeps going from strength to strength.
