News Stories “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.“❤️ The excitement was evident today when our Primary 1 pupils boarded the bus and took their first learning adventure outside school. Listening Walk Primary 1 loved taking part in outdoor learning when they set off on a special listening walk.
With checklists and pencils at the ready, they listened carefully to all the environmental sounds around them- Bells ringing, MISS DONNELLY BRINGS THE CUP Excitement was at fever pitch today when Miss Donnelly brought in the Tyrone Ladies GFA St. John’s Kingsisland GAA team 2022-23 Training for the school football team is well underway this month. Last year was a very successful one for the school and this years group are training hard to emulate their achievements! Art Afterschool Club We were so excited to welcome our new Art Club members Art oddessy under the guidance of Mrs Lowe Primary 5 continued their Art oddessy under the guidance of Mrs Lowe today. Using ideas from our World Around Us topic of Flight, the children followed a design brief “If I could fly…” ‘Play is our brain’s favourite way of learning.’ There is plenty of excitement every morning when Play Based Learning happens in P1. First Holy Communion ✨ P4 were so excited to begin their preparation for the special Sacraments they will make this year. They learned about the Sacred Heart and the Sacraments of Baptism, Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. Primary 4/5 Basketball after school continues As the regular NBA season nears tip off, Primary 4/5 Basketball after school continues apace at Kingsisland! Today, to warm up and get our throwing, catching and passing skills firing, we played piggy in the middle and rob the nest. SPONSORED WALK We had a brilliant day today on our sponsored walk. The weather was beautiful and the children had a fantastic time.
